Brittish Williams Skips Her Prison Date, Asks for Shorter Sentence

Former Basketball Wives star Brittish Williams is in hot water after failing to report to prison on time for her tax fraud case. Williams, who was sentenced to four years behind bars, had requested a delay in her surrender date to spend the holidays with her daughter. However, she did not show up at the prison as ordered, and instead filed a motion to reduce her sentence to 2.6 years.

According to court documents obtained by Radar Online, Williams was supposed to turn herself in on January 3, but she did not comply with the court’s order. Hours before her deadline, she filed an appeal challenging her four-year sentence, claiming that the judge was biased against her because of her celebrity status. She also argued that a shorter sentence would save the government money and resources, as she would not have to be transported back and forth between the prison in West Virginia and the court in Missouri.

However, the prosecutors opposed Williams’ motion, stating that the four-year sentence was appropriate and fair, considering the nature and extent of her crimes. They also pointed out her failure to report to the Bureau of Prisons as directed and emphasized the lenient deal she had already received.

Days later, court records revealed that Williams was arrested on January 12, though the details of the arrest are still unclear. The Federal Bureau of Prisons does not list Williams as an inmate at Alderson, the designated prison facility. As the situation unfolds, the reality star may face more consequences, raising questions about the impact on her prison term and the reasons behind her arrest on January 12.
